Is the U.S plotting to attack China using Japan as a tool?

U.S has always wanted to attack China using Taiwan as a tool which is a country even the U.S doesn't recognize.

U.S has been focused on Ukraine/Russia at first but now that's not U.S's problem anymore, they are focused on Israel/Palestine war but Palestine got many countries recognition and U.S war hawks will be having to face a trial if they can't contain the infomation about this conflict, and to contain it they have to stop the open support for Israel but still support them secretly.

But China, the country where U.S has put a network of propaganda to attack from the 1940's with the help of UK and Japan will be an easy to attack without public backlash, is what they thought.

and U.S based "deep state" is starting to panic, China is rising power in tech and has already overtook U.S in manufacturing.

U.S wants to immidiatly take down China, and they don't care how.

So could they have influenced Japan through media and propaganda to provoke Taiwan?

They certainly could have.
